The vessel Amadeus was underway from port Vejle, Denmark to Vaasa, Finland with 1200 mT of steel sheets as cargo on board. After an agreement was made between insurers of the Amadeus and Seacontractors she was brought into Klaipeda by AHT Atlantis where she was safely delivered by AHT Atlantis on the 2nd of October 15:00 hrs Lt.

While AHT Atlantis was retrieving her towing gear, message arrived at Seacontractors head-quarters that the passenger ro-ro vessel "Regina Seaways" suffered an explosion in the engine room. The Regina Seaways was underway from Kiel, Germany to Klaipeda, Lithuania and was carrying 335 people on board. While AHT Atlantis was contracted to assist the Seaways Regina the weather conditions deteriorated.
